LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The No. 1 Lake Tahoe Community College women's soccer team had its 15-match winning streak snapped by No. 4 City College of San Francisco, 3-1, in the NorCal Regional Final Saturday afternoon.
Brooke Waelbrock's goal in the 60th minute pulled the Coyotes even, but CCSF scored eight minutes later and added an insurance goal in the 75th to clinch the Rams' first State Championships berth since 2013.
LTCC (19-2-2) was hoping to make its first Final Four since 2019. The loss was the Coyotes' first since Sept. 13 against then-No. 18 Fresno City College.
CCSF (17-2-3) opens against Cypress (20-1-3) on Friday with Folsom Lake (21-1-2) taking on Saddleback (18-2-3) in the semifinals.
