The Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) Athletics Department is a member of the Golden Valley Conference (GVC), competing within the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA). The GVC comprises schools in Northern California including Butte College, Feather River College, Lassen College, College of the Redwoods, Shasta College and College of the Siskiyous.

The athletic department at LTCC prioritizes the holistic development of its student-athletes, emphasizing academic achievement, athletic excellence, and good citizenship. The program strives to uphold the CCCAA's standards and regulations while fostering a positive and supportive environment for its student-athletes.
History and Growth
LTCC launched its athletics program in 2014 with men's and women's soccer teams. In the 2023-24 academic year, the program expanded with the addition of men's and women's cross country and long-distance track.
In its short history, the soccer program has achieved remarkable success, securing multiple GVC championships and appearances in the CCCAA Final Four.
The women's soccer team has won six straight GVC championships (2017-2023), and advance all the way to the CCCAA Final Four twice (2018 and 2019). The men's soccer team clinched the GVC championship in 2014, 2015, and 2023, and reached the CCCAA Final Four in 2015.
Facilities and Resources
LTCC is committed to offering a comprehensive experience for its student-athletes, providing access to high-quality facilities, resources, and support services.
- Stadium Field/Grass Fields: The soccer teams primarily practice and play games on the college's synthetic turf field situated at an altitude of 6,022 feet above sea level. The facility boasts covered team benches, a designated referee bench area, a scoreboard, and bleachers for spectators. The teams also have the option of training on two natural grass fields adjacent to the stadium field.
- Gymnasium/Fitness Education Center: LTCC student-athletes utilize the Fitness Education Center for individual strength training and the gymnasium for indoor team training during the winter months.
- Barton Orthopedics and Wellness Center: Through a partnership with Barton Health, student-athletes have access to a state-of-the-art strength and conditioning facility. This 26,000-square-foot center offers amenities such as hot and cold pools, conference rooms for education and mental performance coaching, and access to specialized services including the Alter-G Anti-Gravity Treadmill, Laser Therapy, Functional Knee Testing, and VO2 Max Testing.
- Academic Support: LTCC offers a range of services to support the academic success and matriculation of its student-athletes. This includes mandatory athlete orientation, academic counseling specialized for athletes, priority registration during the season, the "Success for the Student-Athlete" course, and access to tutoring and other student services.
