FOLSOM, Calif. - The No. 1 seed Lake Tahoe Community College women's soccer team will have a chance to play for a trip to the State Championships following its 4-2 victory over Delta College on Tuesday afternoon.
Leslie Jacobo-Duran scored twice, LIllian Felise and
Brooke Waelbrock added goals, and the Coyotes improved to 19-1-2 overall.
They'll host City College of San Francisco (16-2-3) on Saturday, November 30 at South Tahoe Middle School at 1pm in the 3C2A Women's NorCal Regional Playoffs Regional Final. The winner of Saturday's contest earns a trip to the State tournament.
Saturday's match against CCSF will be the first home playoff game at LTCC since 2019 when the Coyotes beat San Francisco en route to their second straight Final Four. LTCC defeated CCSF last year, 3-2.
Against Delta College, Felise put LTCC ahead in the 26th minute, but Delta secured a momentum-changer minutes before the halftime whistle to make it 1-1 at the break.
However, it was all Coyotes in the second half.Â
Waelbrock put home
Andrea Domingo's offering in the 49th before Jacobo-Duran and
Alisi Tauataina hooked up to make it 3-1 in the 52nd.
Delta College inched back into the game when Jasmine Staples made it 3-2 in the 58th.
However, Jacobo-Duran put an end to the momentum swing in the 77th, knocking in her 32nd goal of the year to make it 4-2.Â
