SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Community College women's soccer team's unbeaten run has reached seven games following its 3-1 victory over Butte College on the Coyotes' home field Tuesday afternoon.
LTCC has outscored its opponents 44-2 over this stretch that has lasted a little over two weeks.
LTCC (9-4-3, 5-0-1 GVC) fell behind less than 10 minutes in and trailed Butte (6-5-1, 4-3-1 GVC) at the break, but responded well in the second after a few halftime adjustments.
Olivia Kwachak-Hall tied the game five minutes into the second frame before
Emily Brandt dished out assists on goals from
Avery Hayes and
Brooke Waelbrock.
Ahead of its home finale against Butte, the Coyotes faced College of the Redwoods and Shasta College on October 10 in Redding. It'd be a goal onslaught by the Coyotes.
Brandt scored twice and added an assist,
Alyssa Allan had a goal and an assist, and LTCC goalkeepers
Karina Vargas and
Zoe Baligad did not have to make a save in the 7-0 win over Redwoods.
A few hours later, the offensive firestorm continued with
Karina Vargas registering a hat trick and Brandt, once again, contributing two goals and an assist.
Kailyn O'Connell added two goals and an assist while Hayes tallied three assists in a 9-0 victory against Shasta.
LTCC, which sits in first place as the only undefeated team in Golden Valley Conference play, continues its season on October 28 at No. 15 Feather River College. The Coyotes and Golden Eagles battled to a scoreless draw on Oct. 3 in South Lake Tahoe.
