SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Community College men's soccer team snapped a three-game winless stretch with a 4-1 victory over visiting Woodland on Friday afternoon.
The Coyotes (2-2-1) fell behind early with an own goal, but responded with four unanswered as they picked up their first win since the season opener on Aug. 22.
Mason Franks scored in the 22nd- and 30th minute to give LTCC the lead,
Joseph Gonzalez stretched the lead to 3-1 at the break, and
Jesus Mendoza put an exclamation point on the win with the clincher in the 80th.
Gonzalez, Mendoza and
Carson Dennis logged assists in the match.
Franks, a freshman from Livermore, Calif., has scored five goals in his first four games as a Coyote. He leads the Golden Valley Conference in goals (5) and points (11).
LTCC has outscored its opponents on its home field, 8-3.
LTCC travels to American River College (Sept. 9) before hosting City College of San Francisco on Sept. 12.
