Emily Brandt headlines eight Coyotes honored with 2025 Golden Valley Conference awards
The Coyotes, who earned at least a share of the GVC crown for the eighth-straight season, were well represented on the All-Conference Team.
The Lake Tahoe Community College women's soccer team had eight players named to the Golden Valley Conference (GVC) All-Conference Teams.
Sophomore Emily Brandt was named GVC Most Valuable Player, while freshman Avery Hayes earned GVC Midfielder of the Year honors. Maren Matuska, Alyssa Allan, and Brooke Waelbrock were selected for the All-GVC First Team, while Darleen Minier, Olivia Kwachak-Hall, and Chloe Waskiewicz earned All-GVC Second Team honors.
Brandt, a 2024 All-GVC First Team selection, led the team in goals (13) and points (37) while dishing out 11 assists. Her 37 points tied for the most in the GVC. The sophomore scored a season-high four goals against Shasta College (Sept. 30) and netted two in consecutive matches against Redwoods and Shasta on Oct. 10. She also recorded three games with multiple assists.
Hayes scored 10 goals and added five assists during her freshman campaign. She dished out three assists against Shasta (Oct. 10) and recorded at least one goal or assist in 11 of her 20 appearances.
Allan led the GVC with 13 assists in addition to scoring 10 goals. Her 33 points and 10 goals were second on the team only to Brandt. The freshman registered a hat trick against Siskiyous (Oct. 7) and tallied four assists at Redwoods (Nov. 4).
Brandt (Damonte Ranch HS), Hayes (McQueen HS), and Allan (McQueen HS) all hail from Reno, Nevada.
Matuska, a freshman from Elk Grove, Calif., started 18 of her 21 appearances. The Franklin HS product registered three goals and two assists in her first season at LTCC. Her goal in the 83rd minute earned a draw at No. 8 Fresno City in the season finale on Nov. 11.
Waelbrock netted eight goals and four assists in her sophomore season. Also a Franklin HS graduate from Elk Grove, Waelbrock's 20 total points were fourth-most on the team. She recorded a goal and an assist in key wins over West Valley (Sept. 28) and Butte (Oct. 14).
Minier was named All-GVC for the second year in a row after taking home GVC Midfielder of the Year honors last season. She started 17 of 21 matches and scored six goals, including one in a 3-3 tie at No. 13 Mt. SAC (Aug. 29). She scored in three consecutive matches between Oct. 7–10.
South Lake Tahoe native Kwachak-Hall was a fixture in the LTCC lineup, starting 19 of her 21 appearances during her sophomore season. Her nine assists were third-most on the team, and she added four goals. Kwachak-Hall scored and dished out a whopping five assists on Sept. 30 against Shasta.
Waskiewicz, another South Lake Tahoe local, recorded three assists during her freshman season. She started 12 of 18 appearances.
