SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Community College men's soccer team stretched its unbeaten run to six games by holding off Butte College in Golden Valley Conference play on Tuesday afternoon in its home confines.
Jesus Mendoza scored the eventual game-winner in the 20th minute, added an assist before that, and LTCC (8-4-3, 5-0-1 GVC) survived two Butte (7-6-0, 3-1-0 GVC) goals in the final 10 minutes to keep its place atop the GVC standings.
Mason Franks and
Quinton Alewine, who rank 1-2 for goals and points in the GVC, also scored in the match.Â
Prior to their home finale against Butte, the Coyotes played College of the Redwoods and Shasta in Redding on October 10.
Six different players scored in the 6-1 win over Redwoods, including
Ian Andrade,
Angel Gonzalez,
Rylee Collart,
Elijah Hayes and Mendoza.Â
The Coyotes kept their streak going with a 2-2 draw against Shasta. Alewine and Hayes tallied goals for LTCC.
LTCC plays a non-conference match at Yuba College on October 23 in Marysville, Calif.
