Lake Tahoe CC forward
Leslie Jacobo-Duran was named to the United Soccer Coaches All West-Region team earlier this month following a record-breaking freshman season.
Jacobo-Duran led the state of California in goals (33), assists (20) and points (86). She also led the nation in scoring. Although she was left off the All-American teams, Jacobo-Duran still became the ninth LTCC women's player – and only the third freshman – to receive All-West Region honors since the program's inception in 2014.
"Without a doubt, Leslie was the top forward and perhaps the most dangerous attacker in California this season," said head coach
Jeremy Evans. "She was impossible to defend in 1-on-1 situations. While I felt she easily deserved All-American status, she's the ultimate team player and would trade in any individual honor for a playoff win or to play another game with her team. That's what makes her such a special player."
Jacobo-Duran, a Reed High product, broke the Lake Tahoe program's single-season scoring record (previously held by
Alyssa Grundy, who scored 32 goals in 2021).
