Woodward Park tests Coyotes!
Woodward Park, perhaps the most famous cross country course in history, gave another day of fantastic performances.
FRESNO, Calif. - Woodward Park, perhaps the most famous cross country course in history, gave another day of fantastic performances. The course tested coyotes fitness boasting a high temperature of 104 on the day of the races. However the Coyotes held strong with great efforts.
Niza Barton started the crew off with a bang as she made her collegiate debut for Lake Tahoe Community College. Niza took the course running near perfect splits for her 49th place effort, finishing in 21:37.
Jacob Christopher led our pack with an 18th place finish in the field of 189 runners. After taking out the first mile in a blistering pace of 5:06 he then settled into the groove finishing in a time of 21:44 for the 4 mile course.
Following closely behind was Jackson Davis in 22:30. The sophomore fought hard through a tough third mile finishing in 40th place. This time improves on his state performance the previous year on the same course, showing big things to come for the budding harrier.
Freshman Joel Nord made his collegiate debut finishing 99th with a time of 23:57. Although a novice to the 4 mile distance, he made great strides and finished with great strength passing 4 runners in the final 100m.
Angel "Danny" Robles finished the course in a time of 26:26. Danny has made significant strides thus far. Today's performance is a nearly three minute improvement over his time of 29:13 on the same course last year. Showing this sophomore has much more to give.
The Coyotes will travel to Santa Rosa Junior College the 27th of September for the Kyle Robinson invitational.
