Coyotes compete at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic

HAYWARD, Calif. - The LTCC Coyotes battled tough weather conditions and fierce competition at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic held at Chabot College. The wind and rain didn't stop the Coyotes from competing against highly competitive heats filled with NCAA Division I, Division II, and NAIA student-athletes from across the country.
Alexia "Lex" Craven kicked off the meet for the Coyotes with a strong showing in the 1500 meters, running a time of 5:16.38 placing second in the heat.
Jackson Davis set the tone of his 1500 meters heat, taking an immediate lead from the start of the race and never looking back. Jackson won his heat with a time of 4:15.73.
Jacob Christopher led the majority of the race in his 1500 meters heat, before being passed in the final 300 meters of the race. Placing 3rd in his heat with a time of 4:01.35.
Craven showed tremendous resiliency in the 3000 Steeplechase. After a few mistakes early in the race, Lex closed the gap on the field passing two athletes to place 9th in her heat and setting a new personal best in the 3000m Steeplechse with a time of 11:51.94. Lex is currently ranked 3rd in the state with that time.
The Coyotes are eager to showcase continued improvement in their respective events as they travel to the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, CA on April 13.
