LTCC captures 5th-straight Conference title
The Lake Tahoe Community College women's soccer team continued its conference dominance.
The Lake Tahoe Community College women's soccer team continued its conference dominance by defeating Shasta College 5-0 in its final Golden Valley Conference match last Friday in Redding, Calif.
LTCC finishes the regular season 14-5-2 overall and with a perfect 10-0 mark in conference play. The Lady Coyotes outscored conference foes 82-0 this season, and 2022 marked the second consecutive season they haven't been scored on during conference play.
Since 2016, LTCC has outscored conference opponents 360-5 and has won five consecutive conference titles. The Lady Coyotes haven't been scored on during conference play since November of 2019, a three-year stretch of unprecedented conference dominance.
Sophomore Skylar Blaise leads the state of California with 25 assists, and her 22 goals ranks fourth in the state and second in Northern California. Blaise, whose 69 points on the season leads California, broke the program's single-season record for assists in a season (previously held by Alexandra Trinidad, a 2019 United Soccer Coaches All American who tallied 22 assists in 2021).
Fellow sophomore Alyssa Grundy, the 2021 Golden Valley Conference Player of the Year, has scored 19 goals on the season and ranks tied for sixth in the state in that category. Grundy is now the program's career leader in points (115 points) with 51 goals and 13 assists during her career. Her 32 goals scored in 2021 broke the program's single-season record.
Freshman Rylie Stackpole is third on the team in scoring with 14 goals and 14 assists this season (42 points).
Lake Tahoe's 91 goals scored this season leads the state of California.
Next up for LTCC are the NorCal Regional Playoffs, which begin November 16.
